Mockingbird offers a variety of live, hybrid, and self-paced courses.

QUick Tips

  • Live workshops are conducted via Zoom.  These interactive workshops are recorded and available on-demand. 
  • Self-paced courses are online courses that follow the schedule of the learners.  The flexible schedule allows learners to engage in the course materials at their own pace.
  • Hybrid courses are online courses that have both live scheduled sessions and self-paced asynchronous elements.  Most of Mockingbird's self-paced courses have 2 live sessions (an instructional session and a coaching session) and a two week asynchronous element.  

You can begin a self-paced course at any time. Simply enroll in the course and begin.

  2. Follow instructions.

Hybrid courses have a flexible schedule but some events are live and therefore are scheduled in advance.  View the Upcoming Events to find a hybrid course

  1. Check the Upcoming Event Calendar to find live events.  
  2. Click register to enroll.

Until the entire Methodology instructional library is available virtually (we are adding courses regularly), we are prioritizing course creation based on member needs and requests.  

If you are interested in a course topic that is not yet available, contact Mockingbird.

  • A certificate will be emailed to you after course is completed. 
  • You can view your course certificates on the My Profile tab on the left menu.
  • You can also view course certificates on the Continuing Education Hours Page.

CEUs are Continuing Education Units.  Mockingbird's CEUs are clock-hours of professional education.  When you complete a course, you will be emailed a certificate with your CEUs hours. 

 Mockingbird Education is a registered and approved CPE provider with the Texas Education Agency.  

You can view Mockingbird's approval status through this link.

Mockingbird's CEUs are clock-hours of professional education.  The number of CEU's varies with each course.

Live
Workshops

CE Hours: 1-3

Live workshops are interactive workshops conducted  via Zoom.  Participants interact with content and facilitator through Zoom chat box, camera, and screen.

Discovery webinar workshops are introductory courses that help participants discover new teaching strategies and concepts and encourage learners to consider new classroom approaches and applications.

Exploration
Courses

CE Hours: 1-3

Exploration courses are intermediate courses. These courses explore a Mockingbird Methodology strategy at depth. Strategy content focuses on the what, why, who, when, where and how of a strategy.

The objective of these courses is to build educator’s strategy knowledge. Participant activities include multi-media interactions, discussions, self-reflections and self-assessments, quizzes, and interactive classroom manipulatives.

Instructional Mastery Courses

CE Hours: 1-3

Instructional Mastery courses are methods and application courses to help educators develop instructional mastery in specific teaching strategies. These courses are for participants who want to push their personal growth boundaries and advance their teaching skill towards instructional mastery.

These courses help educators implement and practice a strategy with intense and deliberate focus. Content focuses on classroom application, self-reflection and journaling and discussion in class PLC.

Coaching Courses

CE Hours: 1-3

Coaching courses are mentor courses. These courses are for educational leaders who want to learn how to support educators and develop instructional talent within their staff educators.

These courses help coaches lead educators through educational implementation initiatives. Content focuses on classroom application, self-reflection, and journaling and discussion in class PLC.

Facilitator courses prepare instructors to be Mockingbird course facilitators.
