Webinar Description

Learn the strategies Master Instructional Coaches use to support ABE educators and foster their growth as classroom teachers. Learn the Laws of Compassionate and Collaborative Coaching and how to use Mockingbird’s Compassionate and Collaborative Coaching Framework to create partnerships with teachers that foster vulnerability, encourage self-reflection and motivate teachers to participate in instructional coaching. Learn coaching strategies that open authentic dialogue with teachers and make educators feel respected and valued in the coaching relationship. In this workshop, you will learn the strategies of Master Coaches and how to use collaborative and compassionate coaching questions to facilitate productive coaching conversations.

Workshop Participant will be able…

Identify the 8 Laws of Coaching Collaboration, Equality, and Compassion
Describe how the Compassionate and Collaborative Coaching Framework can be used to coach educators and develop collaborative partnerships with educators.
Evaluate research and rationale for using the coaching framework with ABE educators.
Describe the benefit and application of using the framework as a tool for coaching educators.

Tamara Thompson, M.S., is CEO and founder of Mockingbird Education. She is an award-winning educator and has received state and national recognition for both instruction and curriculum.

Tamara is a former 2003 Teacher of the Year for the Austin area, a recipient of the Michael Jordan Foundation’s Innovation Grant Award, a recipient of Southern Poverty Law’s Teaching For Tolerance Grant Award, a former YBUSA Teacher Fellows and in 2010 was awarded a Research Doctoral Fellows at University of North Texas in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
