Webinar Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered a well-documented decline in mental health.  We know that when students master mental well-being, they thrive in academics and employment and become better learners, employees, and citizens. In this workshop, you will learn how to integrate mental wellness into the ABE classroom and how to use a human-centric tool called the Mockingbird Mental Wellness Rubric to promote mental health (to staff and students) and prioritize prevention and wellness competencies in the ABE classroom.

Workshop Participant will be able…

Describe mental wellness and explain how the Mental Wellness Rubric can be used to create self-awareness and to prioritize mental wellness needs.
Identify how each category in the rubric can be used to promote mental health.
Evaluate research regarding mental wellness and the rationale for using mental wellness tools in the classroom with vulnerable learners.
Describe the benefit and application of using the Mental Wellness Rubric with vulnerable learners.
Get ready for an interactive and engaging learning experience!  No talking heads! No boring video lectures! Our workshops are immersive multi-sensory experiences. Prepare to use your keyboard and mouse, as well as your voice, browser, pen, phone, and sense of humor.
